Syndrome, born Buddy Pine, is the primary antagonist in Disney Pixar's animated film, The Incredibles.
As a young boy, Buddy was a fervent fan of Mr. Incredible, aspiring to be his sidekick, "Incrediboy." However, Mr. Incredible rejected Buddy's advances, leading to a traumatic and formative rejection.
Obsessed with revenge and disillusioned by superheroes, Buddy dedicated his life to developing advanced technology. He rebranded himself as Syndrome, a super-genius inventor and arms dealer. His inventions include zero-point energy and robotic weapons.
Syndrome masterminded a plan to eliminate superheroes, using his Omnidroid robot to learn and adapt to their powers. He then planned to unleash his inventions upon the world, giving everyone superpowers, effectively making superheroes obsolete and himself powerful in comparison.
Ultimately, Syndrome's plan is thwarted by the Incredibles, culminating in his death when his cape becomes entangled in his own jet turbine.
